I received a letter from your collection agency, what do I have to do?

Because you are overdue with your payment, the invoice was presented to us for collection. Our reminder gives you a final chance to pay the claim, before we take legal action. By paying the amount you can prevent expensive cost-increasing procedures.

How can I pay the claim?

You have to transfer or deposit the payment yourself into one of the accounts mentioned in our letter. In the name of "De Incassokamer B.V. in Emmeloord" and mentioning the identification number in our letter. We do not work with giro slips or direct debit. Also see payments.

I received a letter from your collection agency but do not know what it is for, what do I have to do?

Take action immediately and telephone us or write to us. One of our collection employees will help you to find out and explain. If you do not take action, the claim will increase unnecessarily and you run the risk to be summoned, which could have significant consequences.

I can not pay the whole amount at once, what should I do?

There are situations in which it is not possible to pay the whole amount at once. In this case contact us. If you do not react you run the risk that legal actions will be taken, which could mean financial consequences for you. We will assess the situation, possibly ask for more information and discuss it with our customer. Depending on the outcome of this it is possible you will be offered an arrangement.

I do not agree with the claim?

It is possible you do not agree with the claim. Take immediate action and tell us your view, provided with sufficient solid evidence, in writing. Your reaction will be taken care of by one of our collection employees. Unnecessary wrongful defence with the aim to frustrate, is not appreciated and will be dealt with as such. Note: Sometimes there is a difference between legal right and instinctive right.

I received your letter but the invoice has been paid some time back, what do I do?

If you already have paid, send us your payment details as soon as possible. So we can trace your payment. If necessary we will ask for a receipt. It is up to you to show you have paid on time.

Why is the amount higher than the original amount in the invoice?

According to the law our customer can ask for interest when you are overdue with paying an invoice. Moreover, he can charge the costs he has to make by making use of a collection agency to you.

I am going to move house and still have an outstanding debt, what to do?

When your debt has not been paid fully, let us know your new address as soon as possible. If we can not reach you, you run the risk we have to take legal action and that could mean financial consequences for you. This because of the current privacy laws, which only give the process server the possibility to check the municipal database at the moment of summons. NOTE: Legally you have a duty to provide information.

I received a letter from your collection agency, but: I am bankrupt, have suspension of payment, have a settlement of debts, have a legal debt settlement (WSNP), what to do?

In this case you have to inform us and provide us with the details of the trustee/receiver. The reminder you can give to the trustee/receiver. In some cases it could be that the claim is not part of the bankruptcy. If so, you yourself are responsible for payment. The trustee/receiver can inform you about this.
